Nicholas Lieou was born and raised in Hong Kong, educated in Germany, Switzerland, Singapore and San Francisco. After a stint at Central St. Martins- Nicholas went on to train as a jeweler in England (apprenticing for designers such as Shaun Leane, Phillip Treacy, and Lara Bohinc) and later studied at the Royal College of Art in London graduating in 2008.

Nicholas has built a wide repertoire designing fine jewelry collections with an international perspective and consulting for luxury brands such as Blanc de Chine, Shanghai Tang, Alexis Bittar, Ivanka Trump and Bochic. It was not before long that Nicholas’ haute joaillerie work caught the eyes of international gallery exhibitions where they were shown in London, Milan and Hong Kong.

Since April 2012, signature high jewelry pieces by Nicholas Lieou have been available at auction house Phillips in New York. The fantastical high jewelry pieces are made in fine gold and collection color diamonds. These precious materials are combined with technically complex mechanisms to create whimsy and illusions.

French baroque and Rococo flourishes influence much of Nicholas’ designs. Drawing references from organic shapes and combining them with his obsession of linear symmetry, Nicholas Lieou Fine Jewelry presents elegant articulated pieces suffused with classical references that attain a modern sensibility and style.

Nicholas Lieou Fine Jewelry has two lines, Maximalist and Minimalist.

The Minimalist collection is linear, graphic and austere. Made with incredible precision and angular details to the metalwork. It is modern, and ready to wear.

The Maximalist collection takes a unique twist on organic forms, modernized from ancient cultures. Important stones and diamonds are used to create these timeless wonders.
